But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the
living. The depth saith, it is not in me; and the sea saith it is not with me.
It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.
It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire
The gold and the crystal cannot equal it; and the exchange of it shall not be
for jewels of fine gold.
Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.
Destruction and death say, we have heard the fame thereof with our ears.
God understandeth the way thereof and He knoweth the place thereof. And unto
man He said, Behold the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom and to depart from evil
is understanding. (Job28:12-23,28)
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true Wisdom.
All who obey His commandments will grow in
Wisdom (NLT Ps 111:10)
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser;
teach a just man and he will increase in learning.
The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom
and the knowledge of the Holy
For by me thy days shall be multiplied,
and the years of thy life shall be increased.
Happy is the man who finds wisdom,
and the man who gains understanding.
For her proceeds are better than the profits of silver,
and her gain than fine gold.
Length of days is in her right hand,
in her left hand riches and honor.
The Lord by wisdom founded the earth;
by understanding He established the heavens.
Get wisdom get understanding:
Do not forget nor turn away
from the words of my mouth.
Do not forsake her and she will preserve you:
Love her and she will keep you.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom
and in all your getting, get understanding.
Exalt her and she will promote you;
she will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
She will place on your head an ornament of grace;
a crown of glory she will deliver to you.
I have taught you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in right paths.
When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,
and when you run you will not stumble.
Take firm hold of instruction,
do not let go; keep her for she is your life.
For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.
I, wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge and discretion.
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate.
Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, I have strength.
By me kings reign, and rulers decree justice. By me princes rule and nobles,
All the judges of the earth. I love those who love me, and those who
seek me diligently will find me. Riches and honor are with me, Enduring riches and righteousness.
My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, and my revenue than choice silver.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask in faith without doubting.
For he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and
tossed by the wind.
Who is wise and understanding among you?
Let him show by good conduct that his works are done
in the meekness of wisdom. But the wisdom that
is from above is first pure, then peaceable,
gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good
fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
