Before commencing on this topic “Building a Website“, let’s state what a Website is. The word Website comes from the word “web” and “site” and have various definitions as stated here-under:
From Dictionary.com, it is a connected group of pages on the world wide web (i.e www) regarded as a single entity. A Website is usually maintained by one person or an organization and devoted to a single topic or several closely related topics.
The British Dictionary also defined it as “a group of connected pages on the world wide web containing information on a particular subject”.
In Science: It is a set of interconnected webpages, usually including a homepage, located on the same server, and prepared and maintained as a collection of information by a person, group or organization. A particular website is identified by its host name which is part of a URL. Multiple host names are usually mapped to the same computer in which case they are known as “Virtual servers”.
From the above definitions it is understood that one could create as many websites as possible since a website handles particular issues or topics or related issues. Hence in Wealthy Affiliate in its registration requirement, Starter memberships are to build two free websites while twenty-five free websites for Premium Members and twenty-five of own domains- which is just too good to be true; but true because during the training sections; various issues bubbling around you may warrant you to create these various websites and putting down your contents for publication.
Having known what a website is, How do we build a Website?
To build a website especially in Wealthy Affiliate is as simple as A-B-C. In fact Kyle calls it “a blink of the eye or an average time of 30 – 34 seconds” a website is set up and running with lots of theme to choose from. This is made possible because all the technical issues involved in building it are erased from you as Wealthy Affiliate experts handles all the technical issues. As a Starter Member of WA, you have two free websites you have to build. This is because without a website you cannot commence any progressive or successful business of your own or promote Wealthy Affiliate hence during the Foundation courses you are taught how to build your first ever website.
How would you do it with ease?
First of all you have to get an area of interest of your choice; an area you are passionate about; be it in photography, sports, recreation and its facilities, hospitality, etc; what ever field of your choice you know you can confidently talk about and form a niche from it.
Now, What’s a niche?
As it is already stated, it is a keyword or something you are interested in doing or talking about because without it no website can be created.
Once the niche is provided, you Go to Site Rubix- a platform owned and managed by Wealthy Affiliate(See My Thorough Review on Wealthy Affiliate) and commence the building of your website as indicated here:
Processes of Building a Website!
At the Activity Dashboard of Weathy Affilliate, You go to Site Builder, When you click on it, it will take you to other menus that will pop up.
Go to Site Builder and you will see two boxes. ON A FREE SITE RUBIX DOMAN or On A Own Domain. If a Starter Member, you should choose the first box which is free for you until you upgrade before you can decide to purchase your own domain.
After choosing the domain of your interest, Go ahead and give a name to your Website – remember that you have to choose a niche, this is where your passion or interest takes a central position. Note that as long as it is free, your niche is subject to change whenever you like.
The third stage is for you to Choose aTheme or design of your choice – that is; the way you want your website to look on the WordPress. You can choose from the template where thousands of designs are already kept for any one or you can make your own design but put in mind that a simple and clear design is better than complicated ones. You are advised to choose designs that have mostly black and white.
When I first came to wealthy affiliate 4 years ago, I thought that building a website is something difficult and requires a lot of experience. But actually it’s not even difficult. It just takes some time to write content but if you’re passionate about the things you write, it comes of naturally. I realized that if you want to succeed, fear has to be eliminated, in my example, fear of building websites.
I agree with Rich Personality. Once you have the ability to let go and take action, you will find that it actually isn’t as hard as it seems. Building a website actually is pretty simple, but the idea of letting go and just taking action makes things feel more simple, because you reject the idea of failure, you see and have confidence that you can get it done, and so you do!
Thank you for your contribution to making my work a worthy one. As you can note from the write-up, it takes just about 30 seconds to get it running thanks to Wealthy Affiliate. This couldn’t have been possible with other site builders.
Website building sure has come a long way since the late 90s when I first started out online. Today, the process of building your own site is certainly incredibly fast and easy for those without technical skills.
